It's a Saturday

I woke up at around 8.30am. Feeling good cuz' I slept early last night, thanks to the Golden Choya my mum bought during the Japan trip. It pumped my blood fast and soon I felt like laying on my comfy bed for awhile and when i opened my eyes, the sun's shining down on my butt. I seldom slept at 12am on Friday night. It's tad early and kinda uncool.

Anyway, I am so glad to be back at the messy house cos I realise my bed and pillow are the most comfy after spending one week more at our vacation house at Jellicoe Road. The mattress and pillow there was so lumpy and hard.

For the first time in my life, I queued up to buy the Toto lottery. Maybe at this point of time where wedding and renovation is round the corner, I have to be more $$$ desperate and I feel I no different from those blue-collar workers whom I usually see along the queue.

I asked my SO how much did he spend on that lottery draw? He replied "$10"

Isn't that too much? He most probably based on the statistic fact that the more combination he bought, the higher chance he have. My view however differs. I feel if one is fated to win that $$, he can just spend probably the minimun amount of $1 and he still can win. Isn't it? Anyway mine is a $4 quick pick which my cousin chipped in too.

The result's out and no luck though..I still have to work...

Ending my post with some shot from my DSLR..

My new toy

My first bouquet of roses and the only one which survived till now. It has been hanging on my window for 4 years. I love it still!

I can cook finally

While half of my family was travelling through the ice on the iceberg, I have my sis to depend on. I have a good time staying at lavender with a good cityview and beside, it's just next to the MRT. the 1.5 min walk to station and 3 min train to city hall. Save a lot of time. I have almost 45 min extra every evening after work.

Without mum around to guard her kitchen, we have unlimited access to her electrical pan. With no cooking experience (shady lessons during Home Econ is not counted as the partner was a bitch and refused to let me near the stove), I attempted to boil veg and cheese hotdog and cook maggie mee and miso ramen on last tuesday. It's a good combi and 2 people(or victims) benefited from it. One was my sis who complain about the blandness of the soup and have diarrhea the next morning. The other is my boyfriend who can't make up his mind over whether is the food edible.

And today I cooked campbell's mushroom clam soup. No sweat at all. Just feel like hitting myself on the head when i realise i could have added an egg into the soup.

Tiger Year 2010

It's the Tiger year now! I have been savoring these goodies since the mum bought them. Yuck, I think I have gain 3kg from it.

Few weeks back, I received the corporate's e-greeting template for Chinese New Year and immediate reaction upon seeing it is, 'What's the heck? Why is the tiger(represent company) moving downward in the left(back) direction?  My colleague has the same sentiment toward it.

Colleague: 'Shall we feedback to the design team?'
Me: 'Hm, I'm sure those senior colleagues will act before us'

Later that evening, I was chatting with my mum and I brought up this matter.

Me: 'My company has designed not-so-auspicious Chinese New Year greeting card.' Blah blah...
Mum: 'Do you know that when people buy paintings of tiger, they will look for tiger in the posture that deem going down the mountain to prey for food. It is said that this tiger is a hungry tiger. If the tiger is moving up, it mean it has eaten to its full and is going back to its cave to sleep!'

そうですね! This is how we should interpret the picture.

Luckily, our previous lack of initiative has saved a possible moment of embarrassment. So now I understand, my company is a aggressive and hungry big cat, waiting to prowl on the customers.

PS: It's Vday today. I have already recieved my present. A bouquet of 3 magenta roses and a black Pentax KX. I have been joking about the SLR camera for vday gift. And he really bought it! Lotsa of Mucks&Hugs for my dear. I have not gotten anything for him. Guilt guilt guilt...
